Elon Musk plans to create an "army" of Optimus humanoid robots
![]() Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced during a stream on the social network X the company's plans to produce five thousand humanoid robots Optimus by the end of 2025. Speaking at the presentation of Tesla's quarterly results, Musk noted that he considers even half of the planned 10 thousand units to be a significant achievement. He compared this number to a Roman legion, which in different historical periods numbered from two to ten thousand warriors. "I think we will literally create a legion: at least one legion of robots this year, and then possibly ten legions next year," Musk said. He emphasized that the production of humanoid robots is a completely new direction for Tesla, so the company inevitably faces challenges. However, Musk called Optimus the company's most promising asset and added that the creation of intelligent humanoid robots will have a tremendous impact on the future. |
