Lukashenko to take potatoes to China as a gift

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced that he had prepared several bags of potatoes for his foreign counterparts as a souvenir from Belarus before leaving for China.

Lukashenko has been invited to a military parade in China on September 3 to mark the 80th anniversary of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the victory in World War II. Foreign leaders are expected to attend.

"During a working visit to the Mogilev region, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced that he would take several bags of potatoes with him during his visit to China to present them as gifts to foreign leaders," the Belarusian state-run Belta news agency reported.

According to the head of state, the gifts are already ready, with fresh potatoes grown on the president's farm. These are Belarusian varieties of potatoes.
