![]() The bloodstained gloves of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States, have sold for $1.5 million and a handkerchief for $826,000 at an auction in Chicago. The items were in the president’s pocket on the night of his assassination on April 14, 1865, the New York Post reported. A “Wanted” poster with photos of three people suspected of conspiring to assassinate Lincoln also sold for $762,000. More than $500,000 was paid for a famous copy of Lincoln’s handwriting, taken from an 1824 notebook, the Independent added. |
