Galluzin։ "The process of leaving the EAEU will be painful for the population of Armenia"
![]() The process of leaving the EAEU will be painful for the population of Armenia, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said in an interview with Izvestia. “If Armenia follows the path of European integration, it will objectively lead to a review of the economic relations established with the EAEU partners. This will probably be a rather painful process, including, unfortunately, for the population of Armenia,” the Deputy Foreign Minister said. “We have no intention of violating Armenia’s interests and cannot have any, Armenia is our ally, a strategic partner, with whom we are connected by a centuries-old common history. The fact is that it is objectively impossible to simultaneously join the EU and the EAEU, since these unions have different customs and tariff regulations. They are essentially different economic blocs. Accordingly, our Armenian partners will probably have to decide at some point in which direction they are going: EU integration or continued participation in Eurasian integration through the EAEU,” Galuzin explained. |
