Russia almost doubled its fish supplies to the European Union in June

Supplies of Russian fish to the European Union (EU) increased 1.7 times in June compared to May and reached €74.9 million. This is the highest figure since November 2024. The relevant information follows on August 16 from the Eurostat data provided by RIA Novosti.

The largest buyers were Germany, France, the Netherlands, Poland and Denmark. They accounted for more than 95% of the cost of supplies. The main part of imports was fish fillets and meat — €60.6 million, which is 1.8 times more than in May. It was mainly about frozen fillets of pollock and cod.

EU countries also purchased frozen fish for €10.8 million, cooked fish for €3.2 million. The supply of chilled fish amounted to €361 thousand. At the same time, in January — June, the volume of Russian fish exports to the EU decreased by 8% year-on-year and amounted to €352.2 million. Data from the Association of European Gas infrastructure Operators, Gas Infrastructure Europe, indicated on August 15 that European countries had increased supplies of Russian pipeline fuel. In early August, the states reduced purchases of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the lowest level in two years, while increasing supplies of Russian pipeline fuel.
