UK imposes sanctions on Georgia's Chief Prosecutor
![]() The United Kingdom has added four more Georgian citizens to its sanctions list, APA’s Tbilisi correspondent reports, citing the official website of the UK Treasury (HM Treasury). Those sanctioned include Prosecutor General Giorgi Gabitashvili, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Shalva Bedoidze, Deputy Director of the Department of Special Assignments Mirza Kezevadze, and Head of the Special Investigation Service Karlo Katsitadze. It was noted that financial sanctions have been imposed on the mentioned individuals, their assets have been frozen, and all financial dealings with them have been prohibited. Any violation of the sanctions will be subject to criminal liability. It is worth recalling that the UK had previously imposed sanctions on several senior law enforcement officials in Georgia, including Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri. |
