«To dig and to see what we have»: Lukashenko orders search for rare earth metals
![]() Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to find rare earth metals and other resources in the depths of the republic. This was reported by the BelTA news agency. “They say that we have rare earth minerals in our waste dumps. We need to explore the rest: chemistry, oil, gas, and so on,” the Belarusian leader said. He also noted that the country has an underdeveloped geological exploration sector, and the issue of finding rare earth metals is not on the radar of local specialists. Lukashenko noted that US President Donald Trump is actively interested in these resources, because there are never many of them in the depths of the earth. “Maybe we have more than others?” the Belarusian president wondered. “We need to dig, we need to see what we have in the ground,” Lukashenko added, |
