"In January and February of this year, approximately 1,000 to 3,000 North Korean servicemen were transferred to the Kursk region by Russian ships and military aircraft," the publication quotes its sources as saying. The reinforcements included motorized rifle units, electronic reconnaissance units, and sappers, who were not in the contingent sent in October, the BBC writes. According to Ukrainian military and South Korean intelligence statements, in total, the North Korean contingent of about 11,000 suffered serious losses in the Kursk region, up to four thousand killed and wounded, and was withdrawn from the front in mid-January.
