The death of robertus became known the day before from the company's announcement, but no reasons were given. According to the telegram channel Baza, the body of robertus was found in a study in the moscow office of lukoil, where he committed suicide.

It is stated that shortly before his death, robertus complained about his well-being and asked for pills for headaches, after which he went to his office. The public writes that from there he did not leave for several hours, did not answer phone calls, and when the staff decided to go into the office, they found his body. According to them, robertus died of strangulation. The VChK-OGPU Telegram Channel says that robertus hanged himself with a shoelace.
