Diplomatic tensions between Chișinău and Tbilisi: Georgian Charge d'Affaires summoned to Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of Georgia in the Republic of Moldova, David Bochorishvili, was summoned today, November 12, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). The meeting addressed a series of recent statements made by Georgia's Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, which Moldovan authorities believe misrepresent the country's European aspirations and its electoral process. These statements were made during the recent European Political Community Summit held in Budapest and have caused significant displeasure in Chișinău. "The Moldovan side expressed deep dissatisfaction to the Charge d'Affaires regarding the distorted and misleading manner in which the Georgian Prime Minister discusses the European integration of the Republic of Moldova and the electoral process in our country", reads the press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. |
