Claudio Bravo anonymously buys FOUR new houses for families made homeless by wildfires
MANCHESTER CITY goalkeeper Claudio Bravo anonymously bought four new houses for families made homeless by wildfires that ravaged his native Chile. Bravo's amazing act of kindness is all the more remarkable considering a lad affected by the inferno had only asked for one of his shirts. Eleven people died during the Chile wildfires that devastated the country in the first half of 2017. Almost 3,000 fires razed to the ground over a million acres and destroyed more than 1,000 buildings. Former Chile captain Bravo, 36, was reading about the destruction when he learned of little Camilo's request. Miguel Millanguir, nine-year-old Camilo's grandfather, told La Cuarta about Bravo's heartwarming act. No one outside of the families knew about the gesture until now. Explaining what happened, Miguel said: "They interviewed my grandson when the fire was and he said he would like to have Claudio Bravo's shirt. "Then he contacted him and told him that he was going to give him his shirt. "And in addition a house. "I was defeated [before Bravo's help]. I felt that we would not touch our house and I was thinking how I was going to fix things. "Then this help from heaven came." Bravo's wife Carla Pardo even visited the area to check up on the families after learning of their horrendous ordeal. |
