South Korea's Yoon vows to 'fight until end'

South Korea's ousted President Yօօn Seok-Yeol, who was recently impeached for declaring martial law in the country, has promised his supporters to "fight to the end," thanking them for their support. Reuters reports, citing the politician's appeal.

The Seoul Western District Court issued an arrest warrant for Yoon Seok-Yeol on Tuesday. Yonhap reported that this is the first time in the country's history that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of a sitting president. On December 27, the Constitutional Court began considering Yoon's impeachment case, the decision on which must be made within 180 days after the case is filed. Until then, Yoon Seok-Yeol is considered temporarily removed from office.

After the court's decision to arrest Yeol, his supporters began to gather near the presidential residence. According to Reuters, hundreds of people are involved.

"I'm watching your hard work live on YouTube. I will fight to the end to protect this country together with you," the agency quoted Yoon Seok-Yeol as saying through his lawyer.
