Turkish President and sole candidate of the “Republican Alliance” Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been officially nominated as a candidate for the presidential elections. A corresponding request has been submitted to the Supreme Electoral Council, according to Haberturk. The elections are due to take place on May 14 this year. Erdogan’s main opponent will be the leader of Turkey’s main opposition Republican People’s Party, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. Recall that US President Joe Biden recently announced that he intends to run for president in 2024. At the same time, Biden, who will turn 81 in November, does not consider his age as a factor preventing to participate in the elections. |
