Tite steps down as Brazil manager following Croatia World Cup defeat
![]() Tite has said his “cycle has ended” as he confirmed his plan to step down as Brazil’s national team manager following their shock World Cup defeat by Croatia. Brazil had been one of the pre-tournament favourites but crashed out to Croatia on penalty kicks in the quarter-final match on Friday. Tite said following the match: “I have said before that this cycle has ended and there are other great professionals who can replace me.” When asked to provide an assessment on his six years in charge, he added: “Time will answer that. I can’t make that assessment now after a defeat like that. “You will but I’m not in the right place to make an assessment.” |
