The Italian company Lavazza Group, engaged in the production of coffee and coffee machines, suspends its activities in Russia, follows from the company’s report for the 2021-2022 financial year. The company owns coffee brands such as Lavazza, Carte Noire, Merrild and Kicking Horse. “Lavazza decided to suspend all activities in Russia due to force majeure and the impossibility of supplying our products to the market, and was also forced to temporarily stop distribution in Ukraine,” the company’s report says. According to Antonio Baravalle, General Director of Lavazza Group, since the beginning of the military operation in Ukraine, the company has supported the injured civilians. The Lavazza Group report notes that the past fiscal year has been a turbulent one due to a sharp rise in the cost of commodities and coffee amid supply chain disruptions.
