![]() Hundreds of voters are rushing to the city's only polling station to cast their ballots in the parliamentary elections in the capital of Greenland, a RIA Novosti correspondent reports. After the elections, the new composition of deputies may decide to hold a referendum on independence from Denmark. This issue appeared on the agenda after US President Donald Trump's statements about the island's desire to join the United States. In Greenland, neither political parties nor the overwhelming majority of the population support joining the United States. On the contrary, all politicians are in favor of complete independence - neither Denmark nor the United States. Official election results will be announced on the morning of March 12. |
