Australia will support US air strikes on Syria
![]() Australia will support a United States airstrike in response to the Syrian chemical attack, Julie Bishop has said. Eurocontrol, the European air traffic organisation, today warned airlines to exercise caution over the Eastern Mediterranean due to a possible launch of air strikes into Syria over the next 72 hours. Eurocontrol said that air-to-ground and/or cruise missiles could be used within that period and there was a possibility of intermittent disruption of radio navigation equipment.“I am not going to comment on US military actions. But if the United States does carry out an airstrike in response to this use of chemical weapons against citizens then Australia would support any action that is targeted calibrated and proportionate,” she told the ABC. |
