UN General assembly reaffirms Palestinians’ right to self-determination

![]() The United Nations General Assembly has adopted a resolution reaffirming the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination, including their right to establish an independent State of Palestine. The draft resolution was approved by an overwhelming majority of 164 member states, while eight countries, including the Israeli occupation regime and the United States, voted against it. Nine countries abstained. The General Assembly also called on all UN member states, specialized agencies, and bodies within the UN system to continue providing support and assistance to ensure the realization of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination as soon as possible.
