Germany: Palestinian flag raised in front of Parliament building in Berlin, 2 arrested
![]() A Palestinian flag was raised in front of the Reichstag building in Berlin, the seat of the German Parliament. According to Bild, three German suspects were detained, including a 22-year-old youth who climbed the flagpole, removed the German flag and attached the Palestinian flag, and a 20-year-old youth and a 32-year-old man who assisted in the act from the ground and documented it. Fire department forces positioned a tall ladder to bring down the youth and the flag from the pole, but he descended on his own and the flag remained flying for a few more minutes before it too was removed. The 20-year-old was released to his home and the other two were transferred to detention. According to police, all three suspects are "Germans with no immigration background." |
