US official: We will continue our work to strengthen our strategic position in the South Caucasus

U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison M. Hooker hosted Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov and Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan.

Hooker said in a post on X that the meeting was held on the occasion of the anniversary of the historic peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump on August 8, 2025.

“Honored to host Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov and Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan yesterday as we marked the anniversary of the historic peace President Trump brokered between Armenia and Azerbaijan on August 8, 2025,” she wrote.

“I look forward to continuing our important work to secure a peaceful and prosperous future for the South Caucasus while strengthening America’s strategic position in this critical region,” Hooker added.
