Zhaparov: Kyrgyzstan's territory increases by 15,572 hectares

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov announced that following the completion of the process of clarifying state borders, the republic's territory has increased by 15,572 hectares.

According to him, before 2020, the total area of Kyrgyzstan was 199,900 square kilometers, or 19,994,000 hectares. Following the delimitation and demarcation of the state border with neighboring countries, the republic's territory increased to 20,090,572 hectares. Mountainous regions account for 94.4% of the country's territory.

The president noted that the total area of agricultural land is 6,732,000 hectares, of which 1,082,000 hectares is privately owned and used for agriculture.
