Russia warns of response if South Korea deploys US Typhon missile system

![]() Russia would take corresponding measures if South Korea deployed the U.S. Typhon missile system on its territory, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko told TASS in an interview published July 19. Rudenko said Moscow would consider the deployment of the U.S. missile system a threat to the security of the Russian Federation. “If such a development occurs, it will be regarded as a threat to the security of the Russian Federation, which will lead to an appropriate response,” he said. Rudenko made the statement when asked what retaliatory action Moscow could take if Seoul allowed the U.S. Typhon missile system to be deployed in South Korea. He did not provide details about the form or scale of Russia’s possible response. |
