US–Iran ceasefire could be extended up to 60 days, Turkish FM says

A ceasefire between the United States and Iran could be extended by 45 to 60 days if both sides reach an agreement, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has said.

Fidan noted that, given the complexity of the issues currently under discussion, it is “unrealistic” from a technical standpoint to expect a comprehensive agreement to be finalized and signed within 15 days, Anadolu Agency reports.

“If the parties make good progress, an additional ceasefire period may be placed on the agenda — possibly 45 or even 60 days — so that negotiations can continue and the issues can be resolved during this time,” he was quoted as saying by the agency.
