Ground offensive in Lebanon? Macron urges Netanyahu to refrain: We must preserve territorial integrity!

French President Emmanuel Macron announced that he has met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as well as Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and his Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, to discuss the situation in Lebanon.
Hostilities between Israel and the Iranian-backed Hezbollah group continue to escalate in Lebanon. According to recent reports, the Israeli army entered several Lebanese villages near the UN-marked border between Lebanon and Israel.

Hezbollah has also launched missiles and drones towards Israel in response to US-Israeli attacks on Iran.
In a post on social media, Macron said: "I reiterated the necessity for Hezbollah to immediately cease its attacks against Israel and beyond."

It also states that it has called on the Israeli prime minister to preserve Lebanon's territorial integrity and refrain from a ground offensive.
He says France will continue to support the Lebanese armed forces to end the threat posed by Hezbollah and is taking steps to support displaced Lebanese civilians.
