 The Turkish Foreign Ministry has issued a strong statement in response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's statements regarding the events of 1915. Ankara noted that this statement is an attempt to use the painful pages of the past for political purposes. "Netanyahu, who is on trial for his role in the genocide committed against the Palestinian people, is trying to cover up the crimes committed by himself and his government. We condemn and reject this statement, which is incompatible with historical and legal facts," the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a press release. Earlier, Benjamin Netanyahu announced in a podcast with Patrick Bet-David, a podcaster of Armenian and Assyrian origin, that he recognizes the Armenian Genocide. |
