Netanyahu announces recognition of the Armenian Genocide
![]() Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced in a podcast with Patrick Bet-David, a podcaster of Armenian and Assyrian descent, that he recognizes the Armenian Genocide. Bet-David asked Netanyahu why Israel does not recognize the massacres committed by the Ottoman Empire in 1915-1917, even though, given the global recognition of the Holocaust, Israel should have been the first on the list of countries to recognize the Genocide. Despite the fact that the Knesset has not officially recognized the genocide, Netanyahu responded that, in his opinion, “the Knesset has adopted a resolution on that.” In response to Bet-David’s observation that there has been no recognition at the level of the prime minister, Netanyahu replied, “I just do. Here you are” |
