"The 19th package of sanctions against Moscow will be ready by September" - Kallas
![]() The European Union will continue to exert sanctions pressure on Russia's military economy and will contribute to security guarantees for Ukraine. This was stated on Tuesday, August 19, by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas after an online meeting with the leaders of the EU countries, at which the results of the summit in Washington were discussed. The next, 19th, package of sanctions against Moscow, according to Kallas, should be ready by September. As for security guarantees for Kyiv, according to the head of EU diplomacy, they should be "strong and credible" in order to deter Russia from regrouping and attacking again. "The EU will contribute to these security guarantees, in particular through the training of the Ukrainian military, as well as strengthening the armed forces and defense industry of Ukraine," Kaja Kallas wrote on the social network X. |
