Zelensky arrives in Washington
![]() Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived in Washington, where he will meet with US President Donald Trump today. European leaders will also attend the meeting. In his Telegram message, Zelensky thanked Trump for the invitation and announced his desire to end the war as soon as possible. According to him, Russia should do this first. "We all equally want to end this war quickly and reliably. And peace should be long-lasting. Not like it was years ago, when Ukraine was forced to hand over Crimea and part of our country's eastern Donbass, and Putin used it simply as a springboard for a new attack. Or when in 1994 Ukraine was given supposedly "security guarantees", but it did not work," Zelensky wrote. According to him, Russia must end this war, which it itself started. "And I hope that our joint strength with America, with our European friends, will force real peace on Russia. Thank you!", the Ukrainian president added. |
