Pakistan announces creation of missile force
 Pakistan is set to create a missile force within its armed forces, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced, Reuters reports. The prime minister made the announcement at a ceremony in Islamabad ahead of Pakistan's Independence Day on August 14. "It [the missile force] will be equipped with modern technology," Sharif said, adding that the force would be a new milestone in strengthening the Pakistani army's combat capability. A senior security official said the force would have its own command. "It is clear that the missiles are meant for India," he said. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on August 2 that any future attack by Pakistan "will be met with decisive retaliation" using Indian weapons systems.
