During a telephone conversation today, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan informed Russian President Vladimir Putin in detail about the results of the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Azerbaijani President Aliyev in Washington on August 8. The Kremlin press service reported this.

It is noted that the conversation took place at the initiative of the Armenian side.

“The Armenian Prime Minister welcomed the steps aimed at a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian crisis,” the statement said.

In turn, the Russian President told Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan about the results of his conversation with US President’s Special Representative Steve Witkoff and the preparations for the meeting with US President Donald Trump in Alaska.
“Vladimir Putin... spoke about the main results of his conversation with US President’s Special Representative Steve Witkoff and the preparations for the meeting with Donald Trump in Alaska,” the statement said.

Putin confirmed Russia’s readiness to contribute to the comprehensive normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. "The readiness of the Russian side, in accordance with the known trilateral agreements at the highest level for 2020-2022, to contribute to the comprehensive normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, including the unblocking of transport communications in the region, was confirmed," the statement said.
