Kiselyov called for the release of Sputnik Azerbaijan journalists
![]() Dmitry Kiselyov, CEO of the Russia Today media group, called on Baku to release the detained journalists of Sputnik Azerbaijan in a comment to RIA Novosti. “Those who consciously took this step understood perfectly well that in the absence of any objective demands on the work of journalists, this would inevitably lead to a complication of interstate relations between Russia and Azerbaijan. Now, apparently, we can safely release Igor Kartavikh and Yevgeny Belousov, thus taking a noticeable step towards the restoration of relations between our countries. I agree that steps are needed from both sides towards this restoration,” Kiselyov said. Recall that the Khata Court of Baku had detained Igor Kartavikh, CEO of Sputnik Azerbaijan, and employee Yevgeny Belousov for 4 months against the backdrop of the deterioration of relations between the two countries. |
