![]() The United States has reached a trade deal with the European Union, US President Donald Trump announced after talks with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Scotland, Bloomberg reported. According to him, the EU has agreed to buy $750 billion in American energy and invest another $600 billion in the US economy. Brussels will also buy "a large amount" of military equipment, Trump said. This agreement will allow the EU to avoid 30% tariffs that Trump threatened to impose on August 1. "As part of the agreement, the US will impose a 15% tariff on most imports from the EU, including cars. Brussels will open its markets to American exports at a zero rate," Trump said. |
