Iranian professor: "The roots of the 12-day war go back to Azerbaijan"

Iranian geopolitical expert and professor Abdurreza Farajirad touched upon the topic of the Zangezur Corridor and linked the causes of the Iran-Israel 12-day war to Azerbaijan. In the context of the Iran-Europe nuclear talks, he said that the military tension in the region, including the 12-day war, “originates from Azerbaijan.”

According to the expert, the “Zangezur Corridor” project “provides the United States and Israel with access to Iran.” He described the project as a basis for new conflicts and added that “Azerbaijan is using the situation to its advantage.”

Farajirad also stressed that Iran should establish close ties with Armenia, since Azerbaijan is “not a friend of Iran.”

These statements contradict Azerbaijan’s repeatedly voiced position, writes the Iranian Fararu news agency.

Baku emphasizes that the Zangezur Corridor aims to strengthen regional economic cooperation and transport ties and is not directed against any country, the agency notes.
