Zakharova: "The West is trying to take the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations beyond the regional dimension"
![]() The West is trying to take the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations out of the regional dimension. This was stated by the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova during a briefing. “Under the “good” intentions of Brussels, a purely conjunctural (situation-related) problem is hidden: the West seeks to shift the reconciliation process between Baku and Yerevan to its own course in order to once again gain political dividends,” Zakharova said. “Meanwhile, the two countries of the South Caucasus are trying to reach constructive, consensual decisions, independently, with the support of their neighbors (Russia, Iran, Turkey), which have repeatedly contributed to their reconciliation or the resolution of acute conflict situations,” Zakharova noted. |
