#Maan: "Israel and Hamas will sign a ceasefire agreement"
![]() In the coming days, an agreement on a ceasefire and the release of some hostages will be signed between the Palestinian Hamas movement and the Israeli side. This was reported by the Maan news agency, which is close to the radical movement. According to the agency’s sources, “the agreement will be signed and announced this week, at the latest, early next week.” The agency notes that Hamas has agreed to the proposal, which involves the establishment of a 60-day ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the transfer of 10 hostages to the Israeli side during this period. The agency did not rule out that the ceasefire agreement could be announced “next Sunday, and possibly Friday, if all the details of the agreement are finally agreed.” Under the latest initiative presented in indirect talks in Qatar, the militants will hand over to the Israeli side 10 hostages, as well as the bodies of 18 prisoners killed in Gaza, during a 60-day ceasefire. Israel is committed to releasing 150 Palestinians serving long-term sentences from prison, as well as 1,100 Arabs who have been arrested in the Gaza Strip since the start of the Israeli military operation in the enclave in October 2023. In addition, according to the agreements, the volume of humanitarian aid provided to the residents of the enclave will increase significantly. |
