MFA of Russia: "Israeli attacks in Syria deserve strong condemnation"

The new round of violence in Syria is a gross violation of the country's sovereignty and international law and deserves strict condemnation, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"The Russian side has repeatedly assessed Israel's arbitrary military actions in Syria. These attacks, which are a gross violation of the country's sovereignty and international law, deserve strict condemnation. Moscow reaffirms its consistent position in favor of the need to respect the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Syria," the statement said.

Last Sunday, it became known about the attack of armed groups on a number of Druze settlements in the province of Suwayda, as a result of which the highway connecting the province with Damascus was closed. Druze self-defense units fought against armed groups to protect the civilian population. According to the Syrian Ministry of Defense, more than 30 people were killed in the clashes, more than 100 were injured, and 20 fighters of the Syrian transitional government forces were also reported to have been killed.
