Lavrov and Araghchi met on the sidelines of the BRICS summit

In Rio de Janeiro, within the framework of the 17th BRICS summit, a meeting of Russian and Iranian Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Abbas Araghchi took place.

This was reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry. The parties touched upon regional and international issues, as well as topical issues on the bilateral agenda.

The Russian side criticized “the military strikes instigated by Israel and the United States on Iranian territory in violation of the UN Charter and international law, including the bombing of the country’s nuclear energy infrastructure under the safeguards of the International Atomic Energy Agency.”
