Ara Abrahamyan: "The conflict with the Armenian Church could have a sad ending for Pashinyan"
![]() “The arrest of businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan has received a great response and has been negatively perceived in the Armenian Diaspora,” Ara Abrahamyan, the chairman of the Union of Armenians of Russia, told RIA Novosti. “He is a very famous, respected person, he is known and respected all over the world as a businessman and philanthropist. He does a lot for Armenians in the republic and the world. That is why, of course, the issue of his arrest is being discussed now, I simply cannot work now. The phone is ringing all the time,” Abrahamyan noted. The chairman of the Union of Armenians of Russia recalled that the union had signed a letter in support of Karapetyan, which was signed by the heads of 40 regional branches. According to him, the conflict with the Armenian Church could have a sad ending for Pashinyan, since the Church is the foundation of Armenian society, and Armenia is not Pashinyan’s property. |
