"Iran has not asked Moscow for military assistance" - Peskov

The Iranian leadership has not asked Moscow for military assistance. This was reported by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.

Peskov reminded that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between the two countries does not contain a provision on mutual military assistance.

“President Putin, answering the question in a conversation with the heads of news agencies whether Russia would help Iran militarily, said that, firstly, Iran has not asked us for help and, secondly, even in the context of our agreement with Iran, there is no provision on mutual military assistance in such situations,” Peskov noted.

He also reminded that Moscow condemned the Israeli strikes and announced its readiness to become a mediator in the settlement of the conflict.
