Merz hosted Zelensky in Berlin
![]() Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived in Germany at the invitation of Chancellor Friedrich Merz, German media reported. After a private conversation, the leaders of the two countries held a joint press conference, during which they discussed key issues of bilateral cooperation, further support for Ukraine in the war with Russia, and the future of European security. Merz, in turn, stressed unwavering solidarity with Ukraine. “The focus of the visit will be Germany’s support for Ukraine, as well as efforts to achieve a ceasefire,” a German government spokesman said.
