Russia requests UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine
![]() Russia has requested a meeting of the UN Security Council due to the actions of European countries attempting to interfere in the settlement of the Ukraine, Dmitry Polyansky, the First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN, said on the Telegram channel. “The European sponsors of the Kiev regime requested a meeting on May 29 at 3:00 PM New York time (11:00 PM Yerevan time) regarding the humanitarian situation in Ukraine. We have decided to respond in kind and, in turn, have requested a meeting in connection with the threats to international peace and security posed by the actions of a number of European states attempting to interfere in the efforts to peacefully resolve the Ukrainian crisis,” he wrote. According to Polyansky, the meeting at Russia’s request is expected to take place on May 30 at 6:00 PM Yerevan time. |
