"We do not think that the negotiations will be effective" - Khamenei

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has expressed doubts about the effectiveness of negotiations with the United States to resolve the crisis over Tehran's nuclear program.

"Both then (under the previous Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi) and now, the negotiations were mediated, albeit in vain. And now we do not think they will lead to any results. It is unclear what will happen next," Khamenei was quoted as saying by his press service.

Earlier it was reported that Iran has received an offer for a new round of talks with the US.

US-Iranian indirect talks on Iran's nuclear program began on April 12. To date, four rounds of talks have been held.
