Rubio and Lavrov discussed the results of Russian-Ukrainian talks
![]() Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed the results of the Russian-Ukrainian talks held in Istanbul yesterday. The Russian Foreign Ministry reported this. According to the department, Rubio emphasized Washington's readiness to continue contributing to the settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. He welcomed the agreement of the parties on the exchange of prisoners of war and the presentation of the necessary conditions for achieving a ceasefire. Lavrov confirmed Russia's readiness to continue working with the United States on a settlement. The interlocutors also exchanged views on the continuation of contacts between Russia and the United States. Let us recall that direct talks between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations were held in Istanbul on May 17, as a result of which the parties agreed that each side would present its vision of a possible ceasefire for further discussion. |
