The IDF announced the elimination of one of the key financiers of Hamas in Gaza.
![]() The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has announced the elimination of one of the key financiers of the radical Palestinian Hamas movement, Jasser Hussein Ali Shamiya, in the Gaza Strip. This was announced on May 15 by the press service of the Israeli army. "A week ago, during the joint actions of the Israel Defense Forces in the Gaza Strip, Jasser Hussein Ali Shamiya was eliminated. He was responsible for fundraising for the military wing of Hamas," the IDF wrote on its Telegram channel. It is clarified that since the beginning of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Shamiya has been responsible for transferring money to the military wing of Hamas. These funds were used to strengthen the movement's combat units, pay salaries, and finance the organization as a whole. On April 13, Israel attacked the town of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, targeting the head of the Hamas military wing, Mohammed Sinwar. He was in an underground facility that was attacked under a European hospital. It was noted that it was unknown whether the operation led to his death, but other senior members of the organization were present at the scene. |
