Witkoff listed the key points of the settlement
![]() The Kiev authorities’ relinquishment of territories, the use of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant (ZNPP), and Ukraine’s access to the Dnieper and Black Sea remain the main topics of the negotiations on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. This was reported by the US President’s special envoy Steve Witkoff. “The main issues are the regions, the nuclear power plant and how the Ukrainians can use the Dnieper River and go to the sea,” Witkoff told Breitbart News. “I think we’ve done a great job of narrowing down the scope of the issues. The main issues are related to five regions. Russia has control over two of those regions. The Ukrainians have varying degrees of control over three other regions, so it’s about how we assess the situation. There is a difference in the front line, the deployment of troops, and the administrative boundaries. We are in informal discussions with both sides,” Witkoff said. "You can't mediate and work towards a solution if you don't talk to all sides," he said. According to him, the position of the American authorities is to put the Ukrainians and the Russians at the same table. He said that Trump "issued an ultimatum" to both sides, saying that they need to make progress toward a lasting peace, otherwise the United States will leave. |
