![]() The Skype communication service will cease operations on May 5, according to a newsletter sent to its users. Microsoft, which owns Skype, will focus on developing Teams, another service for communication and collaboration, on May 5. Switching to Teams from Skype is free for users and does not require changing account information. "All your contacts and chats will be transferred automatically. You will also receive a notification in the Skype application in the coming days asking you to take the necessary actions," the newsletter states. Skype data will be available to users until January 2026. The data will be deleted on its own if no action is taken until January 2026. |
