"Ankara did not provide airspace for Netanyahu's plane" - Turkish Foreign Ministry

Turkey has not provided airspace for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plane to fly to Azerbaijan, Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Oncu Kecelin said.

"The claims that the Israeli Prime Minister's plane was given permission to fly are completely untrue. We have not received any request in this regard," Kecelin said.

The Center for Combating Disinformation under the Turkish Presidential Administration, in turn, also stated that the republic did not allow Netanyahu's plane to use its airspace.

"There is no question of opening Turkish airspace for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to Azerbaijan on May 7," the center said in a statement.

The center also recalled that "Turkey has closed its airspace to Israeli planes in connection with Israel's genocidal policy in the Gaza Strip."
