Orban: "EU policy aimed at supporting Ukraine will lead to the bankruptcy of Europe"

The EU leadership’s policy of military assistance to Ukraine, as well as the costs of that country’s EU membership, will lead to the bankruptcy of Europe. This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

“Europe’s money, including ours, is being transported to Ukraine in carts, while the EU economy is experiencing an acute shortage of funds,” the head of government said. According to him, neither Hungary nor the EU would have such problems “if the money sent to Ukraine had been invested in the European economy.”

However, EU leaders intend to continue military assistance to Ukraine even without the participation of the United States, although it is clear that Europe cannot do this alone, Orban emphasized, recalling that Kiev wants to have an army of 1 million people.

In addition, EU leaders are trying to ensure Ukraine’s accelerated accession to the EU by 2030, the prime minister noted. To finance this process, Brussels plans to “take out a huge loan, which will lead to the creation of EU debt,” Orbán said.

“This country’s membership in the EU will destroy the European economy,” Orbán warned.
