Waltz: "Ukraine was and remains one of the most corrupt countries in the world"
![]() U.S. Presidential Advisor Mike Waltz stated that Ukraine continues to be one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Walz believes that it is necessary to closely monitor how Ukraine spends the financial assistance provided to it. He stated this on the Fox News channel. Walz spoke about the results of the US President’s visit to the Vatican, where he attended the funeral of Pope Francis, as well as met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. According to Walz, the meeting between Trump and Zelensky can be considered “historic”. They met “face to face” to discuss diplomatic ways to resolve the situation. In an interview with Walz, the Fox News host noted that the fighting has been going on for three years, and Zelensky cannot help but know how expensive it is, both in terms of financial and human casualties. In response, Walz noted: “Ukraine was and remains one of the most corrupt countries in the world... Instead of trying to challenge the president, Zelensky could be sitting side by side with the president, signing a deal on critical minerals” Walz said, adding that "billions of dollars were sent to Ukraine." He expressed doubts that the administration of former US President Joe Biden had properly monitored those funds. "Those funds need to be monitored carefully," Walz said. |
