Adam Schiff: "Türkiye continues genocide denial policy"
![]() US Senator Adam Schiff has issued a statement on the110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, strongly criticizing Turkey’s denial policy. “Turkey continues to wage a long and dangerous campaign of Genocide denial and silencing those who speak the truth. Azerbaijan repeated its century-old actions and, with Turkey’s support, attacked Artsakh in 2020, blockaded it for almost ten months, starting in December 2022. In 2023, the Aliyev regime took full advantage of the situation, when the indigenous Armenian population of Artsakh was systematically starving to death, and carried out ethnic cleansing against them,” Schiff noted, according to Armenpress. Turkey and Azerbaijan continue to threaten the Armenian people today, Schiff noted. “Only when the Genocide is recognized by the international community and the ongoing threats to the Armenian community are removed can we truly say that we have honored the memory of those who died one hundred and ten years ago and stand with those who still cherish those memories today,” Schiff said. Referring to US President Donald Trump’s message, Adam Schiff said that Trump has retreated from recognizing the Armenian Genocide and betrayed the memory of those who died. According to him, this may please the Turkish dictator, but it is a profound retreat from justice and human rights. |
